The customer is responsible for ensuring that the consignor and carrier of hazardous goods comply fully with all the regulations appropriate and applicable to the Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Sea, statutory or otherwise. In particular this refers to the provisions within the latest edition of the IMDG (International Maritime Dangerous Goods) Code, which also includes specific package and vehicle labeling / placarding requirements. Vehicles carrying hazardous goods, and which are classified as dangerous goods when transported by sea, must be pre-booked i.e. units carrying dangerous goods must not be presented for shipment without the prior written permission of Stena Line Freight, or its representatives. In order to comply with Harbour regulations, notification is required at least 24 hours in advance (other local conditions may apply). Please note that any such shipment may be subject to delay (or refusal) if all the requirements relating to the shipment of dangerous goods have not been fully satisfied. Please refer to the Company Conditions of Carriage (available upon request) which establishes this position. Should you have any query with regard to the acceptance of dangerous goods on Stena Line services please contact your local Stena Line Freight Reservation office, who will be pleased to assist you.
